Philippe Collin’s novel Ritzin baarimestari (La barman du Ritz, translated into Finnish by Saana Rusi) has become one of the most widely read and talked-about books of the spring in Finland. Based on true events, the novel takes readers to occupied Paris in the 1940s, where every evening at the bar of the legendary Hotel Ritz may be the last.
The book Sydämellisin terveisin – Gazalaisen ja israelilaisen opiskelijan kirjeenvaihto (Nos Coeurs Invincibles - Correspondance entre une étudiante à Gaza et une étudiante en Israël, translated into Finnish by Nina Paavolainen) opens a human perspective on the war-torn Middle East region.
This weekend, the translation literature festival Helsinki Lit will take over Helsinki Hall of Culture in Helsinki. Siltala Publishing’s international guest authors are the Swedish writer Lena Andersson and the American writer Tara Menon.
