Our wonderful Helsinki Lit guests: Lena Andersson and Tara Menon

This weekend, the international Helsinki Lit literature festival will take over Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki. Our international guest authors are the Swedish writer Lena Andersson and the American author Tara Menon.
 

Siltala’s Helsinki Lit programme:

Fri 22 May at 5:00 PM – Lena Andersson interviewed by Member of the European Parliament Li Andersson
Sat 23 May at 1:30 PM – Tara Menon interviewed by journalist Adile Sevimli

Both authors will also appear at the Meeting Point stage of Akateeminen Kirjakauppa (Keskuskatu 1, Helsinki) on Thursday 21 May from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.

Lena Andersson will discuss her novel Tutkielma inhimillisestä käyttäytymisestä (Finnish translation by Sanna Manninen), an ironic and analytical novel about Swedish self-satisfaction and complacency.

Tara Menon will present her debut novel Upoksissa (Finnish translation by Kaisa Kattelus), a powerful novel about friendship, grief, ecological destruction, and natural disasters.
